Merry Christmas and Happy New Year

We wish all of you a Merry Christmas and hope that the New Year brings you much joy and peace. This past year has been full of firsts for our family. Paul and I were able to take our first vacation as a couple together since we became a family in 2006. The cruise was a wonderful way for us to reconnect and a great opportunity for the girls to get some time with their Nona and Great Grandma B. Isabella had her first term of Montessori school where she also takes ballet and swimming lessons. And Ariana has taken her first steps, leaving babyhood behind and now trying to keep up with her big sister. Paul has had a busy year, to say the least. He was promoted to captain, upgraded to aircraft command pilot (AC) and completed his MBA. Let's just say that besides the trip to Scotland, there was not a lot of golf to be played before the weather turned bad. I have been sneaking in a good book or two when I can get a chance and have been involved in a book club with some of the other spouses in Paul's squadron. My next goal is to figure out how to use the camera Paul got me for my birthday so I can keep these beautiful pictures of the girls coming. It's a Nikon D5000 and although I have all the books for it, I am thinking of taking a class so I can really learn how to use it:) As a family we enjoyed a few more trips this year both to Scotland and Wales. Lately, we have been enjoying more quiet weekends at home taking advantage of the nice weather when we can. The girls are growing up faster than I can believe and it has been nice to spend some quiet time together as a family. This year has also brought a first in having extended nights of undisturbed sleep. Both girls are sleeping through the night regularly, spare the occasional bad dream or need to use the potty. It is wonderful....but won't last in the new year because we are expecting our 3rd child in early July. Yes, all of our babies have been due in July and this one's due date is the exact same as Ariana's. I am 11 weeks pregnant and feeling more tired and sick than I did with the others...which of course must mean it's a boy. Since this baby is due when we were supposed to be moving, they have let us extend up to a year, which means we could be here in England till July 2011! So I guess you all have another year to come visit if you were still hoping to make the trip:)

The girls and I will be coming to Minnesota for the holidays and an extended stay while Paul is deployed. He left on December 16 and will be home in mid February. Please remember to keep him and all service members in your prayers this holiday season. We hope you are well and once again Merry Christmas.

Bella LOVES Santa....absolutely loves!

Ariana...not so much

Telling Santa that whatever he wants to bring her is fine

Silly Girl...no picture of both girls on Santa's lap this year. Ariana very clearly told us "No Santa" when we asked if she wanted to sit on his lap. She wouldn't even take a candy cane from him.

So sweet

Love the eyes

So grown up...she sang all the songs, but wasn't too happy about having to wait while the other children did their parts
